P&C

WELCOME
Helensvale State School Parents & Citizens Association would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to our school community.
A lot can be achieved through the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) and school working together towards common goals.  To do this we need people from all walks of life who are committed to delivering great outcomes for your children and our school.
The more people involved in our P&C the more exciting and successful it will be.  Great results can be achieved for your children and our school - when we work together.
WHAT IS OUR P&C ABOUT?
Helensvale State School’s P&C involves people just like you - parents, past parents and community minded people who want to help our school. The HSS P&C works closely with our school towards building a stronger school community - where all children benefit.
Helensvale State School P&C aim to promote closer cooperation between the Principal, Teachers, Students and Parents.  We provide volunteers at school events and coordinate fund raising activities with the money raised going towards improving the learning experience for the students at Helensvale State School.
The P&C also run the Tuckshop and Uniform Shop for the benefit of the students.
We provide information and reminders on upcoming events, and other relevant information via this website and our facebook page
We encourage you to view and like our page.
HOW HAVE P&C FUNDS HELPED IN THE PAST:
We have provided funds for a variety of resources for the school. These include sports equipment, , literacy and numeracy resources, playground equipment, student achievement gifts, supporting the clubs and the installation of air conditioning units to every class in the school.
HOW CAN I HELP:
You decide how much time you are able to give to help, be a part of our discussion group or to assist or run a fundraising activity.
Throughout the year, we seek donations in the form of prizes and vouchers from our local business community to add to our hampers, stalls, winners prizes, etc.
Perhaps you have a business where you can provide some prizes and gain some exposure. If you don’t mind door-knocking or cold-calling to ask for donations - we want to hear from you.
Sponsors are acknowledged at the event, in the Newsletter and on our Facebook page.

We would like to encourage every family to do “Just One Thing” to support the P&C.  That one thing may be attending a meeting, making a donation or volunteering at a fundraising event. We can achieve great things when we work together.
P&C MEETINGS
Our meetings are held twice a term in Weeks 4 and 8 at 9am in the YMCA (OHSC) Building. This is located at the bottom of the “horseshoe” carpark by the PAC.
Our meetings are informative and include a report from our Principal Ms Heidi Booth. Attending a meeting and becoming a member gives you an opportunity to not only be involved with the P&C but also the decisions that are made.

Siblings are welcome and light refreshments are provided.
