Helensvale State School prides itself on its support and pastoral care through a range of support services and personnel including:

  • Head of Curriculum x 1

  • Head of Operations x 1

  • Key Teachers x 5

  • Speech Language Pathologist x 1

  • Head of Special Education Services x 1

  • Special Education teachers x 5

  • Special Education Teacher Aides x 4

  • Visiting Support Teachers (Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Impairment)

Gifted students - differentiation

Helensvale State School values the development of the whole learner. A range of enrichment activities and programs are offered to support students. In recent years a strong emphasis has been placed on differentiation to ensure all students are challenged and catered for at their individual levels. Enrichment activities are provided to meet the varying needs of students across the cultural, sporting and academic domains including: 

 
  • chess

  • dance

  • debating

  • art

  • acrobatics

  • sport

  • music

  • instrumental music

 


Staff members have been trained to support differentiation within the school and where required students are assessed to identify and focus specific support programs.
