Helensvale was established in 1974 as a community that would offer an excellent lifestyle for people who share an appreciation of both country leisure and suburban convenience.
The school was opened on 23rd of January 1984 with an initial enrolment of 238. The school is situated on a 6.1 hectare site. The grounds reflect the rolling hillsides, bushland and creek settings of the ecology and environment of Helensvale. This is reflected in our school logo. Today the population of the school has grown and we now have approximately 1100 students.
At Helensvale State School we take pride in pursuing high standards in our academic, sporting and music programs and combined with our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support program (SWPBS) all students strive to succeed. Students are proud to wear their school uniform which is well recognised in the Helensvale community and provides children with a sense of belonging.
Our school motto, Strive to Succeed, is pivotal in creating a school culture which promotes the well-being and personal development of each student through our “You Can Do It Program”. When you make Helensvale State School your school of choice, we accept this responsibility seriously and we will strive to maximize the learning of every child in our care.
