Helensvale State School Academies
Our Academy framework helps students discover and develop their strengths through a range of opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Built around four key pathways, Scholar, Artist, Athlete, and Crusader, the program encourages students to pursue their passions, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and connect with like-minded peers. No matter where their interests lie, every student can find an Academy that inspires them to learn, grow, and contribute.
Scholar Academy
The Scholar Academy is designed for students who are driven by curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning. Whether exploring STEM, tackling complex challenges, engaging in public speaking, or pursuing academic enrichment opportunities, Scholar Academy students are encouraged to think deeply, ask questions, and strive for excellence.
Students may be involved in activities such as Voices of the Future, STEM programs, Robo Rumble, academic competitions, and other enrichment opportunities that foster innovation, problem-solving, communication, and a love of learning. Through these experiences, students develop the confidence and skills to become independent thinkers and lifelong learners.
Artist Academy
The Artist Academy celebrates creativity, imagination, and self-expression. It provides students with opportunities to explore their talents through visual arts, music, dance, drama, and performance while fostering confidence, collaboration, and innovation.
Students can participate in Visual Arts, Dance, and Cheer electives, as well as a range of co-curricular opportunities including choir, concert band, strings, dance groups, eisteddfods, and our much-anticipated biennial original school musicals. Through performance and creative exploration, students are empowered to develop their talents and share their creativity with the wider school community.
Athlete Academy
The Athlete Academy supports students in developing teamwork, discipline, resilience, and a commitment to healthy living. Through a variety of sporting opportunities, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, achieve personal goals, and represent their school with pride.
Students can participate in Sports Electives such as OzTag, AFL, Soccer, and Netball, along with opportunities to compete in Sports Gala Days, school sport, and representative pathways. The Academy promotes both personal growth and the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, perseverance, and leadership.
Crusader Academy
The Crusader Academy empowers students to lead through service, community involvement, and meaningful action. Students are encouraged to make a positive impact through philanthropy, environmental initiatives, fundraising, and leadership opportunities that foster compassion and responsibility.
Students may be involved in activities such as Waste Warriors, Animal Welfare League fundraising initiatives, community service projects, charity campaigns, and the Kokoda Challenge. Through these experiences, students develop resilience, leadership, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility while making meaningful contributions to their school and wider community.
